Lliswerry 8 Race Rules

The Lliswerry 8 is a licensed event run under UKA terms and conditions.

  1. Runners must be at least 16 years old on the race day.
  2. Participants must be fit to run and free from injury.
  3. The use of any headphones, including bone conductors is not permitted.
  4. No aids, such as roller skates, line blades, Nordic sticks, bicycles or other non-official wheeled vehicles are allowed on the course.
  5. No animals are allowed on the course.
  6. Urinating or defecating anywhere on or near the course shall be strictly prohibited except in toilet facilities. Anyone violating this rule of conduct shall be immediately disqualified from the event and no longer permitted to participate in the current or future Lliswerry 8 races.
  7. Participants must follow instructions as given from all event officials including marshals, volunteers, medical personnel, school staff and traffic management staff, during and after the event. Any abuse, verbal or physical will result in immediate disqualification.
  8. Access to Lliswerry High School or GOL building at the start and finish is not permitted.
  9. Running back up the course after the finish to cool down or for any other reason is not permitted as this could endanger finishing runners.
  10. All participants must write their names and details of any health or medication problems on the back of the race number.
  11. The race number contains a bib chip and that must be worn unfolded and visible on the front of the runner for the duration of the race so that they can be included in the official results via chip timing.
  12. By participating, all participants accept that their names and any photographs or video footage taken of them during the Lliswerry 8 may be used to report on and publicise the race .
  13. If a participant becomes ill or injured during or after the event and receives medical or first aid treatment, they, by participation, authorise the first aider or medical staff member to provide details of the injury or illness to the Race Director of the Lliswerry 8 for the purposes of incident reporting.
  14. Places are non-refundable and deferrals are not offered. Runners may exchange numbers or make amendments to their details up to and including January 6th 2024. After this date no further changes may be made. The amendment of t-shirt sizes can be made up to November 25th 2023.
  15. Runners must run wearing their own race number. Any runner found to be wearing another person’s number will be disqualified.
  16. Failure to follow these Official Rules, as it can be amended, results in an immediate disqualification and ban from future races.
