Our maroon & white colours distinguish the club throughout Wales as a friendly & diverse community who love to run, welcoming & encouraging all ethnicities, sexual orientations, ages, abilities & capabilities. We welcome runners of all standards & backgrounds because we are runners of all standards & backgrounds. We also recognise the immeasurable benefits to mental well-being as well as physical health which running offers, so are keen to promote the sport through volunteering.
The club founded & supports the 3 local parkruns (Newport, Newport Juniors & Riverfront) and in 2019 the club received the Ribbon Award from Disability Sport Wales in recognition for its coaching & club management standards.
We recognise that for some people, joining a running club is a daunting prospect. Our club sessions are organised into 7 groups. If your limit is just getting around a parkrun then Group 6 is the right place to be. For those who already run & just can’t get any faster perhaps the middle Groups would be more suitable. Meanwhile our Groups 0, 1 & 2 contain faster runners and even represent our club at national level.
For new members we have a Quick Start Page & for those just starting out on their running journey we host Couch to 5k programmes.
Come down anytime & just enjoy the club vibe. We have a meet & greet team to help first timers. Our coaches & Run Leaders can advise on the best group for you & absolutely nobody gets left behind…ever!
Most people join after our tasters as they find the club is so friendly.
